Day 12 Masai Villages
We were given the opportunity to visit the people of the outer villages, and a certain Masai people outside of the city of Morogoro. We traveled an hour and a half to reach this first church.
These people walk hours for church every Sunday and Wednesday. They are so hungry for the word, and are so excited every time they get to go to church.
Timmy and Danny were able to share the word with them for a few minutes, and Pastor Emanuel translated for them.
These people meet in churches made from sticks and grass.
The spirit of the Lord is so strong in these churches.

The people prepared a gift for the district attendant! Fresh milk from their cows.
After we visited with that church and encouraged them. We drove another 30 minutes out into the bush, and than we walked 45 minutes to get to the other village we visited that day.
This is the water that these people have to drink. Not only do they drink it, but they let their cattle drink it, and use it to wash their clothes.
Water is a huge need for the people out in these villages.
As soon as we arrived to the church, the people brought the Pastors drinking water
The Masai people love to dress themselves up. They make and wear all kinds of jewelry.
As you can see above this Masai child has circles on her checks. This is a form of branding that many children have.

This is Agnus.
Timmy let her try on one of his plugs.
As soon as she put it in she was laughing uncontrollably.
The people of this church were gracious enough to prepare chai tea for us. It was very hot so Angus was cooling it off for us.

We walked back to the car and headed home.
It was so incredible to be able to share with these people, and see their incredible hunger for God.
A few days ago Timmy and I (Joe) were walking around and met a few teenagers. We were talking with them and one of them told us that he was dealing with bad stomach pain. He told us he was going to the hospital tomorrow.
Timmy asked if we could pray for him, so we prayed for them to be healed. We said goodbye and walked away. Just today they came to Emanuel's house (where we are staying) and wanted to say thank you for the prayers and tell us that he was healed! All 4 of them gave their hearts to God.
God heals and saves.
