Day 17 Chameleon/Soccer

Day 17

Today we found a chameleon when we were out playing with the kids.

They were all very afraid of it, but us Americans don't see them very much so we got very close to it.

We also got the chance to play football (soccer) with them. Then after we learned a swahili song and sang it with the kids. The songs goes "My God is bigger than any other"

Day 16 Village Of Hope Orphanage

Day 16

Today we visited an orphanage called Village of Hope.

The orphanage is run by Bebe (Mother) Helen. She currently feeds, clothes, and teaches 30 beautiful children and teenagers.

Bebe Helen and I

We were able to go to the orphanage and play games with the kids. Not only play games with them, but to sing some songs, and read from the bible! The kids were so interested in it, and they were listening intently to it

Timmy reading the word!

They liked it so much that they took it from him and were trying to get a closer look

Helen runs this orphanage purely off of support from people around the world. She is doing an incredible work, and these kids lives are going to be so very different because of her allowing God to use her

Here the kids have a supporter who bought them new socks and underwear

For just $35 USD a month a child from this orphanage can be feed, clothed, and taught.

It was so encouraging to see that these children are being cared for. But there are still so many without a home. So many that roam the streets to find a place to sleep at night.

Please pray for every one of the orphans here at Village of Hope.

And also all the orphans without a place to sleep in the city of Morogoro.

God wants you to intercede on their behalf.

Day 13-14 Bethel Revival Temple

Day 13

We visited a secondary school and I (Joe) brought the word to them. Thus there are no pictures!

Timmy lead worship and God's presence was so strong there.

God used the message I spoke to encourage the kids.

Day 14

Today we visited the mother church of ICC.

We got a grand tour of the campus.
The campus has in its four walls a: Church, elementary school, and a Doctors office. Right outside the walls the church is building a facility to train church planters and pastors to go and reach the people of Tanzania!

The Uzima Nursery School
(Uzima means life)

Here are some kids that are receiving schooling from Bethel Revival Temple. A lot of these kids come from Muslim backgrounds, so this is an incredible chance to show them the love of Jesus through the gift of schooling.

Here is a view of Uzima Secondary School that Bethel is currently building.

Bethel Revival Temple is doing so much for the kingdom of God. So many lives are being changed through this church and the believers in it.

Day 12 Masai Villages

Day 12 Masai Villages

We were given the opportunity to visit the people of the outer villages, and a certain Masai people outside of the city of Morogoro. We traveled an hour and a half to reach this first church.

These people walk hours for church every Sunday and Wednesday. They are so hungry for the word, and are so excited every time they get to go to church.

Timmy and Danny were able to share the word with them for a few minutes, and Pastor Emanuel translated for them.

These people meet in churches made from sticks and grass.
The spirit of the Lord is so strong in these churches.

Timmy bringing the word

The congregation of the church

The people prepared a gift for the district attendant! Fresh milk from their cows.

After we visited with that church and encouraged them. We drove another 30 minutes out into the bush, and than we walked 45 minutes to get to the other village we visited that day.

This is the water that these people have to drink. Not only do they drink it, but they let their cattle drink it, and use it to wash their clothes.
Water is a huge need for the people out in these villages.

As soon as we arrived to the church, the people brought the Pastors drinking water

The Masai people love to dress themselves up. They make and wear all kinds of jewelry.
As you can see above this Masai child has circles on her checks. This is a form of branding that many children have.

This is Agnus.
Timmy let her try on one of his plugs.
As soon as she put it in she was laughing uncontrollably.

The people of this church were gracious enough to prepare chai tea for us. It was very hot so Angus was cooling it off for us.

Daniel and Timmy with some of the Masai women

We walked back to the car and headed home.

It was so incredible to be able to share with these people, and see their incredible hunger for God.

A few days ago Timmy and I (Joe) were walking around and met a few teenagers. We were talking with them and one of them told us that he was dealing with bad stomach pain. He told us he was going to the hospital tomorrow.

Timmy asked if we could pray for him, so we prayed for them to be healed. We said goodbye and walked away. Just today they came to Emanuel's house (where we are staying) and wanted to say thank you for the prayers and tell us that he was healed! All 4 of them gave their hearts to God.

God heals and saves.

Day 9-11 Metamorphosis

Day 9-11

Day 9 was a rest day for us. We were able to buy some souvenirs which was awesome!

Day 10 was a big day for ICC and for the team. The normal Sunday service went very well. Daniel brought the word, and had the congregation pray over the city of Morogoro that the Muslim stronghold would break.

Day 10 was Metamorphosis worship concert at ICC. 3 different secondary schools (middle-highschools) were invited and attended the event. The worship music was preformed by the ICC praise team, some students from the secondary school, and Timmy and Daniel.

The room was full of people wanting to praise the Lord.

God is doing huge things through this church!

We are so blessed to be able to work with them!

Day 11 was also another day for us to rest and reach out to the kids in the neighborhood.

More to come!

Day 6, 7, and 8 at Kigurunyembe Secondary School

Day 6 & 7 were days that we were not able to capture many photos. So we decided to collaborate them.

Day 6 at ICC

We had a bible study at the church. We went over the parabol of the field, and how we are God's fields. Timmy led in a song of worship. The attendance was about 20 people. It was great as always to gather with God's people.

Day 7 at ICC

Thursdays are always for worship practice. But before worship practice we played Frisbee with some of the neighborhood kids. We were also able to read the bible to them, and the bible was filled with pictures for young kids to understand it better. Even though few of them understood English, God is still using these times we play with them to reach out to them.

Timmy and Daniel gathered together with the praise team and went over the music for the Sunday service.

Day 8 at Kigurunyembe Secondary School

Today we were blessed to be able to meet with the Kigurunyembe secondary school. Right when we walked into that place we felt God's presence there. We were given 1 hour to sing a song, and to preach from the word. There were probably 70-80 people in that room.

Timmy singing "Happy Day"

We also met up with some world racers that happened to be at the same school as us! They have already been to 6 different countries in 6 months! Here is the link to one of the team members blog for you to check out. www.joshsturdevant.theworldrace.org

Pastor Emanuel interpreting the word Timmy was giving.

Over 30 lives were dedicated to chirst today in this school!
God is doing amazing things here! Please pray for those 30 kids as some of them are from Muslim families.

More to come in the following weeks!

Thanks for the prayers and keeping up with the blog.
